A little about me..

My photo
I am a meteorologist for the CBS affiliate in ATL (CBS Atlanta News-We ask the tough questions). I have also worked in Orlando, San Antonio, and Houston. Regardless of where I've been I have always thoroughly enjoyed my job! It also helps that I LOVE ATL too ;)

Weather and music.....

I have found that weather really determines my "music" mood. For instance on a sunny day I feel the need to listen to chill house. On stormy days I opt for a lounge and jazz mix. It's funny how music works in tandem with weather to keep your mood going.

I won't judge you, but I'll judge your food!

This past Monday I had the honor of judging the S. Pelligrino Almost Famous Chef's Competition. The event was held at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Let me tell you, the South has the best cooking talent I have even seen! In fact the winner Timothy Devore from Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte was only 19! He was the one who took home the cake, well in this case, the coveted pan. His dish was the Sumac seared Duck (The second picture) Yum!!

Observations

So I have decided that ATL has a vast majority of talent when it comes to cutting hair. I do have to admit going to a new place every time I get my hair did is kinda scary. Hmmm..maybe that's why most salons allow you a glass of white or red. I regress. I did however notice that each of the stylist I've been too have their own technique to texturizing. (and shampooing for that matter)

A healthy cheeseburger? I reckon so..

Can this really be? Healthy cheeseburgers, fries and even hot dogs? So I have recently heard of this "new" genre of fast food (served at a quaint little midtown restaurant called "Evos")and certainly had to give it a whirl. At first I rolled my eyes at the concept, but you only live once, right?. I had the cheeseburger, air fries, and even got a free kid's chicken strips (special deal on Sundays). How is this healthy you might ask? Well Evos prides themselves on "air baking". Nothing is fried, hence, no clogging of the arteries! Yay! The burger was good, fries were delicious and chicken strips were similar to something you'd get in a high school cafeteria. My favorite part were the 4 varieties of KETCHUP! Original, Garlic, Mesquite and even Fiery Cayenne. This was excellent because I LOVE KETCHUP! I literally can use a whole bottle of Heinz on my fries. Here's how the food faired on my palette-o-meter.
Burger-7.5, Fries-8.5, Chicken Strips-7.0 and congratulations to Ketchup-10.0
If you are a health nut check it out, it's right across the street from ironically another healthy joint "F2O"; 7th and Peachtree.
